OK, I'm confused. The 'mindspy macro'. Is that necessary? I only have defense right now, but I cast it on the mob I'm fighting and get the buff. I only have to cast one spell, not all of them.

It just saves you the trouble of having to dig out and put the spell on your hotbar everytime you either log in or decide to Mindspy a different type of mob in the same session.

I actually don't use one.

I came up with the idea independently, but it wasn't working for me, either because I messed up the syntax, or for some other reason. In any event I only find a few usefull enough to worry about and even then I tend to stick with one type throughout a dungeon. So it's not as if I would be saving all that much time anyway, as I'm not constantly having to swap different spells in and out.

I frequently forget to update both the 10 min. buff and the 15 min. Mindspy anyway.

Hell, I had to use an illusion to remind me to refresh the 30 min. timer on Acumen.

For the most part the mindspy abilities just don't seem that critical to me and constantly monitoring buff timers is not 'fun'.

Nor does it add a degree of difficulty to the game.

It is merely tedious.

instead of changing your concentration with the spell version where you cast it. you can use

/combatformset "Concentration: Greater Astral Form" or whatever
concentration.

this is the same as clicking on your form window. (does not interfere with spell cool downs)

The other great thing about this method is "it will NOT drop you out of invis when you change concentration."

Also this is the only method for hot keying Greater Astral Form that works. Unless its just me but i don't have a spell book /cast version of this concentration.

The down side of this approach is that there is a longer cool down when using a /combatformset, between changing concentrations. But you can still use this in conjunction with the /cast variant.

Here are the macro's I currently use on test. Some of this may differ from live such as mindfire being rank VI, Thought Surge being rank II, chrono having the CD instead of thought surge etc. I'll include the icon numbers I use.

Psionicist Specific Macros

Counter / Reaction / Pet Attack - Icon#20738 This macro allows you to cancel any cast, counter/chain, and pet attack. You can list the finishers in any order you want, I prefer to lead with mindfire first these days.
/cancelability
/cast "Psychic Mutation"
/cast "Mindfire V"
/cast "Telekinetic Blast IV"
/cast "Superior Temporal Fracture"
/pet attack

Manual Counter - Icon#415 Nullifying field can be manually forced/casted if you know what to look for visually should you fail to Identify.
/cancelability
/cast "Nullifying Field"

Sprint - Icon#514 I've made all 4 sprint spells into 1 button to help with bar space.
/cast "Mass Acceleration"
/cast "Acceleration"
/cast "Hasty Retreat"
/cast "Sprint"

AoE - Icon#20732 I've paired Thought Surge and Chronoshift on this one.
/cast "Thought Surge III"
/cast "Chronoshift IV"

Mana Sieve - Icon#609 I've included a down ranked comp sphere in this one for when mana is too low for max rank comp sphere/schism.
/combatformset "Concentration: Thought Thief"
/cast "Compression Sphere VIII"
/cast "Compression Sphere I"

Timestop - Icon#20746 I add cancelability for a speedy timestop if needed.
/cancelability
/cast "Timestop III"

Old School Psi Levitate - If you utilize keybinds for stance switching and are fine with the old way lev functioned on our concentrations this one is for you.
Mit - Icon#701
/combatformset "Concentration: Transcendance"
/cast "Mind Over Body"

Mana - Icon#609
/combatformset "Concentration: Thought Thief"
/cast "Compression Sphere VIII"
/cast "Compression Sphere I"
/cancelbuff "Mind Over Body"

Rage - Icon#666
/combatformset "Concentration: Phrenic Rage"
/cancelbuff "Mind Over Body"

Evac - Icon#595 It's a good idea to let the group know that they are about to be evacuated. Generally important announcements i'll color yellow.
/group <yellow=>EVAC in 5 Seconds !! Get Close !!
/cast "Spatial Leap"

General use Macro's

Nuisance B Gone - Icon#1054 A /cancelbuff macro can be handy for any class, from people that dislike having to go into layout mode and winscale to remove lev, to tanks that need to make sure they don't have gift of peace on. You can include any buffs you wish. This is an example.
/cancelbuff "Parachute"
/cancelbuff "Corruption II"
/cancelbuff "Briel's Trill of the Clouds"

Cure Me - Icon#763 Timely cures can be very important.
/raid <yellow=>CURE Holgresh!!

Assist - Icon#20225 I use static assist macro's
/assist Soandso

Rope - Icon#20356 Handy dandy rope.
/rope

Specific PC or NPC targeting - Icon#20359 - This can be very useful for stance checking or tracking.
/target Joebob
/cast "Diamond Skin"
or
/target Naranda
/target Akande
/target Raffen
/target Shorul
/target Cennfar
/target Tekar

Corpse Drag Icon#20395
/targetnextcorpse
/corpsedrag

Item use from Inventory - Icon#(depends on item) Some items have effects that can be activated from inventory, Catlike Visage, Mask of Hatred and Fennir, The Dragon Idol are some good examples.
/itemuse "Fennir, The Dragon Idol"

Equip/Wear - Icon#(depends on item) Example: You can make a macro to equip your primary and secondary hand items.
/wear "Heart of the Icefiend" primaryhand
/wear "Frozen Core Shield" secondaryhand

Hope that helps some of you folks out. See you in the land.

No. If you want a pause in a macro, get yourself a G15 keyboard.

I keep macros for my mindspy abilities, and today while killing bugs in Afrit I noticed my mindspy weakness macro wasn't working. I checked and made sure everything was spelled correctly. /cast "mindspy: deadly trap" And then dragged the spell down to my bar, right clicked to see how the gamed spelled it. It took me a moment, but there is a space as the end. So to get the macro to work I put in /cast "mindspy: deadly trap ". Has anyone else noticed any others?

I am not sure I understand this macro Venge/Tuddar...

all this is on 1 macro and thats all you have to kick is 1 button?...
and all those actions are going to take place? O.o
..or...

...which ever ability is available will take place?

Ill have to make this amcro and test it out to see how this works...a first glace gives me the impression it will hender my ability knowledge in some ways if used alot.

I like the armor swapping/ stance changing macros, but I dont think an actual "Combat auto sellection" of my attacks would be what i use...I like the freedom to sellect to much. to me its like having a automatic pilot on my car..kind dangerous, and leaves you lost and out of control.

But this is based on not understanding what that macro does.
